About the Artist
Joe Galindo’s lifelong passion for painting and bold creative vision define his distinctive approach to contemporary art. A Yorkshireman with Canarian roots, his travels—from Vietnam to Australia—have introduced him to unique artists across the globe and deeply inspired the body of work he has spent years developing.
He began his journey as a professional artist at 21, painting Yorkshire landscapes from his grandma’s spare room in Mirfield—a 1.5m x 2m space that became his first art studio. It was also here that he earned a few quid painting friends’ pets, a skill that came naturally after years spent sketching and studying his own dog, Spotty. This became the springboard into wildlife art.
Now based in Leeds, Joe’s style fuses abstract lines and bold splashes with elements of realism, channelling the raw emotion of wild animals. His signature focus lies in the eyes—the "crown jewel" of each piece—where intricate detail often reveals a hidden silhouette of the animal, forging an intimate connection between subject and viewer.
Ever evolving, Joe sees his artistic journey as a continuous exploration of new ideas and techniques. His work has received both national and international recognition, attracting a growing following drawn to his emotionally charged pieces.
